Church Leaders Lead The Way In Serving/Meekness/Humility
God woke me up super early this AM with this message on my heart. "To Church Leaders" God wants church leaders, pastors, worship leaders, etc to remember they are called to be servants. Servants walk more than they talk, not talk more than they walk. Jesus called leaders out in ministry to serve the Body of Christ, not "lord" over His Beloved People. This scripture is fire. Phillipians 2:1-11 1 Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. 5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; 7 rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! 9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Praying for revelation of Jesus Christ, for pastors, and leaders of all kinds in the Body of Christ. Revelation of who He is, His meekness, His gentleness, His humility, His love that serves. Remember Jesus touched the lepers and wasn't "above" getting his hands and reputation messy. He touched the "untouchable" and healed the outcasts of society. Jesus isn't looking for the hype, he isn't impressed with popularity, nice cars, nice seats, nice positions, nice networks, He's impressed by love, by justice, by visiting the prisoner, feeding the hungry, and clothing the naked, caring for the orphan and widow, by BEING his hands and feet. Jesus will ask if YOU cared for the poor, clothed them, visit them, feed them, not if you delegated it.. As we care for the least of these we care for Him. It's PERSONAL to Jesus. He wants love and justice alive and well in OUR hearts, caring for the least of these in our city. Church leaders, go get your hands messy in serving the lepers of our society. Lead the way in loving the broken hearted, sick, and oppressed. Don't guard your reputation over seeking love and justice. That is injustice, and seeking your own glory over doing what your gifts are actually here for. The second you get on your knees and start washing dirty feet of those in the church and those in the world around you is the second the power of God will flow through you like never before. If you feel dammed up and blocked in Spirit, creativity, purpose, and calling its because you have forgotten about serving and getting your hands dirty with love. Go out downtown Austin and use your gifts to serve the poor. Feed the hungry, lay your hands on the sick, give your excess clothing away to the poor, give supplies to the homeless. Remember what you do for the least of these you do for Jesus. Please remember the poor, and don't delegate it out. Your better than that, Jesus said the greatest among us will be the servants, and you are great. Lead the way in serving, getting your hands dirty with love! Let Our Heavenly Father honor you, don't seek pop and fame from man. Learn to serve in the secret place again. Go do it yourself and don't tell anybody. Don't tell anyone your serving and feeding the poor. Just let God see it, and experience the Kingdom like never before. Grace and Peace Chris Lopez www.bellaeden.org
