Consider The Birds, Consider The Flowers: INTRO

Updated: Mar 26

I'm starting a blog series titled "Consider the Birds, Consider the Flowers." This is the first entry. My prayer is this aids to help you see and ushers you into expanding rivers of God's peace, welfare, and supply - as you simply trust and abide in Christ. Let stress go and let the supply flow. Ok let's begin todays meditation.

25 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

28 “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. - Matthew 6:25-33

Jesus banishes worry away from people. All stress flees before the Prince of Peace. Jesus is the Prince of Shalom. Shalom is a rich word that means; wholeness, completeness, soundness, health, safety, prosperity, peace and tranquility. He taught them to relax by trusting and gazing at the beauty of our Heavenly Father and how carefully He cares for the birds and flowers. He alleviated all their fears and concerns, even the little ones that people learn to live with and bear.

All worry and stress dissolve while considering how Our Heavenly Father faithfully feeds 300 billion+ birds, daily.

The heart relaxes into supreme safety and peace considering how Our Heavenly Father clothes the earth with trillions and trillions of flower pedals.

You'll take notice, as you consider how our Heavenly Father takes care of the birds and flowers, that God is extravagant. God is lavish. God is beautiful. God enjoys detailed beauty and abundance. Imagine countless seed, various in size and kind, bringing infinite joy and satisfaction to every bird. Imagine how much joy this brings to Our Ever Present Father who experiences this daily. Imagine what God experiences when He hears every bird sing their songs of joy and mirth.

As you consider the beauty of the flower, and how Our Father clothes them, notice how God doesn't hold back on their detail and beauty, despite how transitory their pedals last. God finds extravagant beauty and detail - worth it - because God is beautiful, the God of beauty and supply.

Finally, in today's consideration of the birds and flowers, we will conclude this restful meditation with this. Our God is capable. Our God is able. Our God is already doing it. Our God is supplying, and has been supplying. Our God not only supplies for the essentials and basics, he extravagantly supplies for the essentials and basics. Consider how he feeds the birds, their basics. Trillions and trillions of exotic insects, fish, and seeds all for their satisfaction and pleasure. Consider how he clothes the flowers. Trillions and trillions of exotic and unique and vibrant colors, pedals, stems, and shoots. Our God is not lacking in any way. Our God doesn't lack in style. Our God doesn't lack in grace. Our God doesn't lack joy. Our God doesn't lack in health and life. The flower isn't missing anything. The flower rests complete, a masterpiece finished perfect by God. The bird doesn't go hungry. Not one starves. The birds eat their complete fill. The provision is already there, fresh, each morning. Just gather and enjoy. Rest in green and lush pasture. Eat and drink your fill, of the extravagant love of God. Remember, if God is this mindful and gracious toward the birds and flowers, how much more does He care for you. Remember that you are so very loved.

Grace - unmerited, undeserved, favor and blessing be yours and multiplied in your life.

Peace - shalom, tranquility, rest, completeness and soundness be yours and multiplied in your life.

All from God our Father and Jesus Christ Our Lord,

Amen.
